Major and Minor Reports

Reports are divided into major and minor types. depending on the size.Major reports are usually extracts from newspapers etc - often quite large, while minor reports may be simply one-line entries in a larger source. Major reports also vary in size and price and the larger reports  are denoted by stars next to the years eg 1899--2* Prices for these are shown on the order form.

If you know the profession of your ancestor you may find them in the professional indexes such as Body & Soul or Masters & Mates but otherwise you should check all the indexes when searching for a name

To find an entry

when you select a range of names from the index page, an Acrobat PDF file is loaded which can be viewed with your acrobat reader - which should be loaded automatically  by your browser. The entries are listed alphabetically and then by date. to enlarge the view select the magnifying glass button at the top of the screen. Please note in all cases one entry equals one report.

When you fnd an entry

If you find an entry you recognise, note the details and click the BACK button on the top of the screen. This returns you to the index page you started from. Then click on the ORDER FORM/PRICES link. This will produce the order form with details of discounts /prices etc. You should print this off and fill in the details of the entry you require. Then complete your name and address at the bottom. PLEASE CHEK YOUR ORDER & COSTS before despatch especially if you require multiple items or starrred reports. AS TOO MANY PEOPLE SEND ME THE WRONG AMOUNTS which slows down the order processing .
And please ADD A CONTACT EMAIL ADDRESS as there may be changes or delays to your order.

The prices are: 2* = ?10 3* = 312 4* = ?14, 5* = ?16 6* = Price on Application as this usually means there are too many reports to list and I would need to survey them before giving you a price.
